CHENNAI: South superstar Rajinikanth has come under fire for allegedly making comments against Thanthai Periyar (Periyar EV Ramasamy). Members of the Dravidian Viduthalai Kazhagam have lodged an FIR against Rajinikanth for commenting against Thanthai Periyar (Periyar EV Ramasamy). Rajinikanth has been accused of disparaging remarks against Periyar.

The members of the Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam have demanded registration of a case against Rajinikanth under Section 153 (A) of the IPC. The Dravidian Viduthalai Kazhagam (DVK) on Friday accused Rajinikanth of 'sheer lying' in relation to the 1971 rally by social reformer Periyar, asking him to apologize in this context. DVK president Kolathur Mani has alleged that actor Rajinikanth lied that nude pictures of Shri Ram and Mata Sita were displayed at the 1971 superstition eradication convention in Salem.

The organization said actor Rajinikanth made the remark on January 14 at a magazine event. Mani demanded an unconditional apology from the actor and said that his organization has lodged a police complaint against him.
