FIR filed on Payal Rohatgi for 'objectionable' remarks against Mahatma Gandhi

A complaint has been lodged in Mumbai against Bollywood actress Payal Rohatgi, who has often been in the news for her controversial statements. It is alleged that by sharing a video on social media, she made objectionable remarks about Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, the country's first PM Jawaharlal Nehru and the Congress family.

Pune District Congress General Secretary Sangeeta Tiwari has filed a case against actress Payal Rohatgi at Shivajinagar police station. Police have registered a case against Payal Rohatgi as well as another unidentified criminal for making the video. The complaint received by the police says that Payal Rohatgi made derogatory videos against Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi, former PM Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and his family and circulated it on social media.

It also mentions that the video circulated on social media contains many things that can lead to hatred between the two communities. It may be mentioned here that Sangeeta Tiwari had earlier filed a case with the cyber police. The cyber police handed over the case to Shivajinagar police. Bollywood actress Payal Rohatgi had earlier criticized the Congress and the Nehru family. She has been in the news for a number of controversial posts on social media.
