Indore: A major accident was averted on Tuesday at MY Hospital. A sudden fire broke out in the AC on the second floor of the Chest Unit Center, built in the back of the hospital, while the smoke on the second floor was filled with fire. There was a lot of panic among the people due to this fire. In which the staff shifted patients from here to the first floor. At the same time, 16 patients were admitted on this floor. The hospital personnel gave information to the fire brigade and started trying to extinguish the fire with the fire equipment present here. Due to which it was controlled to a large extent.

On this incident, MY Superintendent PS Thakur said that there was a fire in the sleep study room. Where about 10 patients were absent. ICU ward has also been set up from the fire room, where 6 patients were admitted. Due to this fire, patients admitted in ICU did not face any kind of problem. But 10 patients admitted to the General Ward were immediately shifted to the first floor.

At the time of the incident, everyone was first to shift to the main building of MY, but it was not needed. Later two patients were shifted to the main building. Thakur said that the employees first tried to extinguish the fire with fire equipment. But they failed. After this, the fire brigade was informed. After this, the employees tried to control the fire once more, this time they managed to overcome the fire. Isolation wards for coronaviruses have been made on the ground floor of the place where the fire took place in the hospital.
