Srinagar: The case of bursting of firecrackers on Eid has come to light in the Martand Sun Temple located in Anantnag, Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Its video is also becoming increasingly viral on social media. In the video, several boys are seen bursting crackers. Let us tell you that this is the same ancient Sun Temple, of which only ruins are left now and it was defamed by calling it a 'devil's cave' in Vishal Bhardwaj's film 'Haider'. This temple was built by Lalitaditya Muktapida in the 8th century (AD 800), after which it was heavily damaged in the 15th century by Sikandar Shah Miri, who ruled the Kashmir Valley at that time, and is currently in dilapidated state.

It is seen in the viral video that the boys are jumping in the temple. Meanwhile, some boys are also seen bursting crackers. One of these boys is seen in white clothes with a cap on his head. It is clear from this that the people who burst crackers in the temple are Muslims only. Let us tell you that Martand Sun Temple is one of the few Sun Temples in India. This temple has been declared a protected monument by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Not only this, the Archaeological Department has also opposed the worship of Hindus in this temple. The ASI has not yet given any reaction to the incident of bursting crackers on Eid in the same temple.

After this incident, riots on Ram Navami and Hanuman Janmotsav are also remembered. Regarding which the Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee had said that why did the Hindu people enter the Muslim area by taking a procession? Should this be understood to mean that a procession cannot pass through the road in a Muslim area and crackers can be burst on Eid in ancient Hindu temples, that too in a temple which has not been allowed to worship by the Archaeological Department.
