Rudrapur, Udham Singh Nagar: The Uttarakhand State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) is currently engaged in a rescue operation to save numerous individuals stranded in their homes within the Kashipur vicinity of Rudrapur, where heavy rainfall has led to widespread flooding.

The SDRF team was swiftly alerted by the District Disaster Management office in Rudrapur about the dire situation unfolding in the Kashipur area. The excessive waterlogging had resulted in the submersion of numerous houses, leaving a considerable number of residents trapped and in need of urgent assistance, according to officials.

Upon receiving this critical information, the SDRF team promptly mobilized, bringing along essential rescue equipment. Their swift response ensured their arrival at the affected location without delay. Utilizing specialized rafts and employing their rescue expertise, the SDRF successfully managed to evacuate approximately 80 individuals who had been stranded within the flooded houses. These rescued individuals were safely transported to secure locations, marking a successful completion of the rescue operation.

Simultaneously, another episode of heavy rainfall wreaked havoc in the Dhalwala and Khara localities of Rishikesh, a region within Uttarakhand. Here, the Rishikesh saline source witnessed a substantial rise in water levels, leading to severe waterlogging and submersion of multiple residences. Officials quickly engaged the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) to address this crisis and rescue those trapped within the flooded houses in Dhalwala and Khara.

In the late hours of the night, the SDRF team, informed by the Thana Munikireti, responded promptly to the escalating situation caused by the surge in water levels from the Rishikesh saline source. The team executed a successful operation, employing rafts to evacuate around 50 individuals who were marooned within their inundated homes. These rescued individuals were then safely transported away from the danger zone.
