Fly Big, the new private airlines choosing Indore airport as the base airport, is going to initiate operation of the planes soon. The first flight of the airlines will arrive in Indore on Friday at 1 pm. The airlines will soon start flights to Bhopal, Ahmedabad and Raipur.

Aryama Sanyal, Airport Director, Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport, informed that at 1 pm, the first aircraft of Fly Big Airlines, will arrive in its first "proving flight" to the city airport.

TK Jose, Chairman MP-CG Chapter of Travel Agent (Jose Travels), Federation of India informed that before issuing the license for the civil aviation to any new line, it has to go through certain theoretical and practical exercise and demonstrations before the officers of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). These demonstrations and exercises are set by DGCA as a standard to examine the preparedness of the license seeking airline. The first exercise is known as 'Table Top' exercise, under which the theoretical preparedness of the airlines is examined by the DGCA officials.

The second exercise is known as 'Proving Flight' where-in the flight operation preparedness is examined. Following applying license for operation of scheduled commercial passenger flights by Flybig, the first 'Proving Flight' of the airline will arrive at the city airport on Friday, where-in the officers of DGCA and the airline staff will be board. Sanyal informed that on Friday at 12noon the 3rd Aerobridge will be dedicated. MP Shankar Lalwani will inaugurate the aerobridge. Thereafter automated parking ticket machine will also be inaugurated in car parking area.
