On the occasion of International Substance and Anti-Drugs Day, many veterans of Indian football have come forward in the fight against drug abuse. The Indian football family has given a clear message that they are addicted to football and not intoxicated. Veteran Indian football IM Vijayan said, 'Football is a great level. Instead of seeking a quick solution through drugs, it is a good idea to enter the football field. You have a healthy appetite and continue to get eight hours of sleep which is important for staying fit. Addicted to football, not drugs.

Renedy Singh said, "Sports, football alone gives you so much positivity and energy that helps you overcome negative and obstructive things. It helps you to be physically healthy as well as psychologically. It gives you an option to live a peaceful life away from these dangers". Padmashri Bembem Devi said, "Parents pay pocket money to their children for food, but they use them for drugs. Initially, the parents remain unaware of it and when they come to know, the children are already prey to it."

Goalkeeper Subroto Paul, while requesting to take the game as a habit, said, "Nowadays in families, there is not much bonding between children. Not everyone goes out and plays. This loneliness often destroys you. Choose sports as a hobby. you will feel better. I urge all parents to take their children forward in sports."
