He said, "Hope everyone is healthy. My coronavirus test report has been found negative by the grace of God and prayers of all. I am grateful to all those who supported me in this difficult period and were concerned about my health. Need to remain positive." The 36-year-old fast bowler said, "I managed to get out of the disease by getting treatment at home. Those who are infected with this need to remain positive. Have faith in the above and follow the rules. Together we can fight the virus". Right now his wife Sumona Haque is still in the grip of the disease.

Murtaza wrote, "But my wife is in the grip of coronavirus infection even after two weeks. Her situation is already better. Pray for her." Murtaza is also an MP from the ruling Awami League party. He was found positive from Covid-19 on 20 June. Among other Bangladesh players, Nafees Iqbal and Najmul Islam have also been cured of this disease after receiving treatment at home. Both these cricketers were also found to be infected with Coronavirus (Ci) before three weeks.
