Kolkata: Former Union Minister and former BJP leader Yashwant Sinha reached Kolkata today and took membership of Trinamool Congress (TMC). He joined the party of Mamata Banerjee waving the flag of TMC. BJP's Yashwant was angry with the party for a long time and has criticized the party on many occasions.

Criticizing the BJP after joining TMC, Yashwant Sinha told the press that, 'The power of democracy is the institutions of democracy. Today almost every institution has become weak, including the judiciary of the country. This biggest crisis has arisen for our country. In Atal Ji's time, BJP believed in consensus but today's government believes in crushing and winning. Akali Dal, BJD, and Shiv Sena have already left the BJP. Who stands with BJP today?'

Sinha further said, 'There is no doubt that TMC will come back to power with a very large majority. A message should go from Bengal to the whole country that whatever Modi and Shah are running from Delhi, now the country will not tolerate it. I am saying with great regret that the Election Commission is no longer an independent institution.' According to Modi-Shah, the decision to convene elections (voting in 8 phases) has been taken and in view of benefiting the BJP.
