There have been a lot of turbulences in the Hyderabad Cricket Association. The matter became so intense that it now reached the Uppal police station with president and former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin filing a police complaint that false advertisement was being spread against him. It is affirmed some of the committee members of HCA abused Yousuf and HCA president Azharuddin. The police convoked the HCA officials to the police station for inquiry regarding the complaint.

While talking to a leading daily, Azharuddin said: “They were abusing me. I complained to the police as I can’t take the law into my hands. They can’t come to the stadium and abuse me in front of the officials. I’m going by rules and regulations. I don’t have to worry. The office premises are meant for official work but not for abusing people and they have to respect the chair.” He further added that "the law would take its own course."

Meanwhile, HCA treasurer Surender Agarwal said he did not abuse Yousuf. “I’ve done nothing wrong nor abused anyone. I just asked Yousuf to follow a few procedures,” he said. This is a new twist to the ongoing struggle for power in HCA. Azharuddin is facing a mutiny from secretary Vijayanand, vice-president John Manoj, joint secretary Naresh Sharma and treasurer Surender Agarwal, ever since he decided to appoint Justice (retd) Deepak Verma (former judge of Supreme Court) as Ombudsman of the association. This was opposed by the four members.
