Bengaluru: Former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah slammed the state government on Wednesday, accusing them of being involved in the Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) recruitment scam and demanding a judicial investigation.

"The PSI recruiting scam is estimated to be worth Rs 300 crores. We have no faith in the inquiry conducted by the state's Crime Investigation Department. "We seek a judicial probe  overseen by a sitting High Court judge," said Congress leader Siddaramaiah during a press conference on Wednesday.

The Congress leader asked that state Home Minister Araga Jnanendra and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai be fired immediately since they were "responsible for PSI appointments and had been associated with the principal accused in the case, Divya Agrawani."
Government, ministers, legislators, and officials must all have a role in large-scale corruption. As a result, we do not trust the CID investigation. "The BJP government in the state would submit the case to a judicial inquiry, which will be overseen by a sitting judge of the High Court," he said again.

Additional Director General of Police Amrit Paul and Deputy Superintendent of Police Shanta Kumar, who chaired the PSI recruitment committee, have been transferred elsewhere, said the Congress leader. "This implies that these two are involved in unauthorised recruitment." He stated that "a lawsuit must be made against them, and they must be removed from service."

"We are acting severely against the offenders," stated Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday in response to the incident in the Ballari district. They should not be supported or protected by anyone." He was speaking during a ceremony to mark the opening of the Ballari Regional Forensic Sciences Laboratory, which was hosted by Union Minister Amit Shah.
