Kolkata: Former West Bengal CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharya has been found positive for corona virus and issolate at home on the advice of doctors. Health department sources said 77-year-old Bhattacharya's wife Meera is also infected and was admitted to a city hospital on Tuesday evening.
The source said on Tuesday, ''Samples of Buddhadeb Bhattacharya, his wife and his archer were taken and they have been found to be infected with corona virus. He said the Medical Board has confirmed meera Bhattacharya's admit to the hospital." The former CM is under the supervision of doctors at his house. In West Bengal, 19,428 new corona cases were registered on Tuesday during which 145 more patients lost their lives due to corona virus infection in the state. The health department issued a bulletin informing about the same. According to the bulletin, with the registration of 19,428 new cases, the total number of infected persons increased to 11,71,861.
It is said that the death of 145 more corona patients in the state has increased the number of people who lost their lives due to the epidemic to 13,576. According to the bulletin, 19,050 covid-19 patients have also recovered during the last 24 hours and 10,26,492 people have recovered from the deadly virus infection in the state so far. The number of patients undergoing treatment in Bengal is 1,31,793.
