Aizawl: According to the Health Department, 1,224 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Mizoram in the last 24 hours, which is 206 less than the previous day. The state's tally has reached 1,08,790 on Wednesday. The death toll rose to 367 as four more people succumbed to the infection. According to a health department official, the one-day positivity rate came down to 14 per cent from the previous day's 15.18 per cent as 8,721 fresh cases were reported from sample tests. was detected.

He said that Aizawl district reported the maximum number of 750 fresh cases, followed by Lunglei district (87) and Serchhip district (83). He said at least 237 of the newly infected people are children. 1,223 were found infected with the virus locally. According to a government bulletin, Mizoram recorded an average of 1,163 COVID-19 cases daily in the last 13 days since October 1. Since October 1, 56 people have died due to COVID-19. The number of active COVID-19 cases now stands at 14,484, while 93,939 people have recovered from the infection. The recovery rate in Kovid-19 patients is 86.34 percent and the mortality rate is 0.33 percent. The state has so far conducted over 11.91 lakh sample tests for COVID-19. State Immunization Officer Dr Laljavmi said that till Tuesday more than 6.87 lakh people have been vaccinated, out of which 4.80 lakh people have received the full dose of Kovid-19 vaccine.
