Lately, controversy of transporting an Electronic Voting Machine is fiercely being talked about. After second phase of the poll in Assam finished, a white Bolero car in Kanisail area of Karimganj in Assam was found parked. When the locals questioned the car driver, he allegedly ran away. During the search, locals found an EVM inside the car.  After the matter came into light, the poll panel said the 'transport protocol states that under no circumstances should a person take an EVM in private custody or to a private place.' Notice is issued against the presiding officer, who was responsible for the transportation of the EVM acknowledging that there was a ?violation of transport protocol.?

The videos of this incident surfaced on social media in which it is seen EVMs in Paul?s Bolero car in Karimganj surfaced after the voting concluded in the state on Thursday. Now, the mob has broken into violence abusing and not allowing BJP leader's vehicle to pass. The EC report reads ?there is otherwise no deliberate or malafide intention in the incident aimed to disrupt the polling process." The EC statement further says that the officers realized their mistake only after the car was intercepted by a group of 50 people. All four officers of the polling party have been placed under suspension for breaching EC?s transport protocol.
