Paris: A massive fire broke out in a residential building in the French city of Lyon on Friday morning. Ten people, including five children aged between 3 and 15 years, were burnt alive in the fire. French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said the fire broke out in a building in the city of Vaulx-en-Velin in the city of Lyon. 180 firefighters were involved in extinguishing the fire at the scene.  

Although, the fire was brought under control after a lot of effort, by then many people had lost their lives. The Home Minister said that an inquiry will be started into this matter. He is in touch with President Emmanuel Macron regarding this matter. The fire started around 3 am on Friday. But the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

According to the report, apart from the death of 10 people, 14 people were also injured in this incident. The condition of one of them is said to be critical. The fire broke out in a 7-story residential building in Vaulx-en-Velin, Lyon. Two firefighters received minor injuries while extinguishing the fire. The fire started on the ground floor of the building and then spread upwards.
