Paris: The cases of coronavirus in Europe are increasing, leading to a steady increase in positive cases. Emmanuel Macron has announced a curfew in the country to curb corona cases. The curfew will be effective from 9 am to 6 pm in the cities. Macron said on Friday, "The curfew will take effect on the Ile-de-France region and eight metropolitan areas - Grenoble, Lille, Ruan, Leon, Aix-Marseille, Saint-Etiyen, Toulouse, Montanlier and Rouen."

He said, "On an average, 20,000 new cases of COVID19 are being registered every day due to the second wave of corona epidemic in France. We have now entered a phase where it has to be stopped at any cost". He further said that "It would be inconsistent to re-lockdown the entire country, so curfew is a proper measure. "The situation is under control, we are in a situation which is alarming and should not panic," said Macron. We have learned a lot from the initial wave".

He said, there is no restriction on traffic between 9 am and 6 am during curfew, but the traffic must be limited. "We should be able to work in all spheres," he said. He further said that "PM Jean Castex will soon brief the press on these measures".
