In a conference, he stated, "We had no idea that Gadar: Ek Prem Katha would spark a riot when it first began. It was common to hear, "This is a Punjabi film."

As a regional Punjabi film at the time, Gadar was rejected, according to Sunny Paaji. In Hindi, people used to say dub it. Some movie sellers stated, "I won't buy this movie because it's a Punjabi movie. A necessity. Sunny Deol makes this claim, but the audience was so satisfied with the movie that they silenced everyone. The public has given us the confidence to produce Part 2.

Gadar 2, the movie's sequel, is scheduled to debut in theatres on August 11. Gadar 2 also stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkarsh Sharma in leading roles. The 1971 war between India and Pakistan will serve as the basis for the plot of "Gadar 2." To promote the movie, director Anil Sharma re-released the first act.
