Lucknow: On Thursday, the police sealed an idol in Colonelganj before installing the idols of Lord Ganesha in the pandals and houses on Ganesh Chaturthi in UP. Sculptors were prepared on the orders of devotees and different committees, banning the lifting of Ganesha idols.

When people were informed about the ban on the sale of statues, they started creating a ruckus. On Friday, a delegation will meet DM Bhanuchandra Goswami regarding this case. The sculpture's factory located in the Bharadwaj Muni Ashram street was sealed on Thursday. Along with locking the factory, police constables were deployed there. The devotee, who arrived on Thursday to get the idol of Lord Ganesha were asked to go back. The police have not allowed the idols to be taken.

The police said that public worship has been banned. Therefore, there will be no sale of idols. On hearing this, the artisans and people who came to take the statue started a ruckus. Regarding the uproar, Inspector AK Dixit said that in view of the increasing cases of COVID-19, public gatherings has been banned. Idols will not be allowed to be sold. Police personnel have been deployed near the workshop. Due to this, the artisans said that if the devotees and committees who placed the orders did not take the idols.
