THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Police took three people into custody after a woman from Tamil Nadu accused them of drugging and raping her, sources said on Thursday.

A young woman from Tamil Nadu is accused of being gang raped after being served  juice spiked with drugs.  The survivor claims that Malar is related to her spouse. The survivor had asked Kannur resident Malar for a job. On August 23, she arrived in Kannur from Tamil Nadu and moved into Malar's home. One of the accused was the victim's female relative.

When the woman went to see a female relative named Malar for a job on August 27, the event allegedly occurred close to Kannur. Malar led her to a different home, promising that finding a job would be simpler from there. Two males soon joined them, and when the woman was handed juice, she passed out.

On regaining consciousness, she found herself in a hospital and shared her trauma with the doctors who reported the matter to police. The three suspects were all detained by the police.

A probe is underway to ascertain whether a 4th person was involved in the crime.

On August 27, Malar told the survivor that they would shift houses and both went to another place. At the new house, the survivor was given the juice. The woman lost consciousness soon and was allegedly raped by Vijesh and another man belonging to Tamil Nadu, she said in a complaint filed with the police.
