Meerut: The alleged gang-rape victim in Meerut, UP has recently committed suicide. According to reports, the teenager committed suicide after her boyfriend refused to marry her. As per the information received in the case, police have registered a case against the accused on the complaint of the victim's side. Efforts have now also been initiated to arrest him.
Let me tell all of you that the victim and her mother had lodged a complaint of molestation against the teenager's boyfriend Shadab her cousin Munavwar and cousin Gulsher on February 16 this year in which the police had registered an FIR. In the case, Superintendent of Police Grameen Keshav Kumar said, "The teenager later accused Shadab and his brothers Munavwar and Ashraf of molestation and rape by Shadab and Munavwar during a statement before a magistrate under Section 164 of CRPC. The police had also added a rape section to the FIR following a statement in the case.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Meerut Prabhakar Chaudhary said last Saturday, "Parikshitgarh police station received information on Friday that the teenager had committed suicide. At the same time, he said that initial inquiries revealed that the teenager wanted to marry Shadab but he was not ready for it.''
