Kanpur: Vikas Dubey, a history-sheeter who killed eight policemen including the CO, was killed in an encounter on Friday morning in Bikapur village of Kanpur. The UP STF team was was taking him from Ujjain to Kanpur, but police convey overturned at 6:30 am in the Barra police station area, 17 km before the city. Vikas was present in the same vehicle.

After the accident, he tried to attack by snatching the pistol from the police team. He was badly injured in retaliation by the police. He received two shots in the chest and waist. He was later taken to the hospital for treatment. Where he was declared dead at 7.55 am. IG of Kanpur range confirmed the death of Vikas. Vikas was arrested from the Mahakal temple in Ujjain on Thursday.

Vikas Dubey was arrested at Ujjain temple around 9 am on Thursday morning. The scared history-sheeter was shouting at the time of arrest that I am Vikas Dubey of Kanpur. After this, the police arrested him and reached Mahakal police station, police control room, Narwar police station and then police training center. He was questioned here for about two hours. Meanwhile, news is coming that Vikas's wife Richa,son and servant were detained in Lucknow for questioning.
