New Delhi: Former India team opener Gautam Gambhir may soon be seen as a co-owner of the IPL Delhi Capitals (DC) team. Giving information, sources have said that Gambhir has been talking to GMR Group about this for almost two months. GMR holds a 50 percent stake in Delhi Capitals. The remaining 50 percent is held by JSW Sports.

Giving information, sources have said that the deal has been confirmed in this regard and now only the approval from the IPL Governing Council is waiting. A source has said that Gautam Gambhir was very keen to get a 10 percent stake in Delhi Capitals. Explain that the value of 10 percent stake in Delhi Capitals is about Rs 100 crore.

JSW took a 50 per cent stake in the team last year for Rs 550 crore and after that it changed the name of the team from Delhi Daredevils to Delhi Capitals. This team was seen struggling for the past several years but last season it finished third. It remains to be seen whether the performance of the team changes after Gautam Gambhir becomes a co-owner.
