General-level talks with China continues over restoration of former position

New Delhi: Lt. General-Level talks between India and China on the second phase of repelling troops from East Ladakh is making headlines. This meeting is going on at LAC in Chushul, India. In this meeting, the second phase of Disclosure and Disengagement will be discussed to withdraw troops from Pangong Tso and Depsang area. India will insist on restoring the situation like before May 5th.

20 soldiers of India were martyred in the bloody conflict between India and China on 15 June in Galwan. According to sources, 40 Chinese personnel martyred, though they did not release the exact figure, after which China agreed to withdraw troops in the disputed areas after National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval spoke to China Foreign Minister Wang Yi on a video call to reduce the deadlock in areas. In the first phase of disengagement in Ladakh, Chinese troops from Gogra, Hot Springs, and Galwan Valley retreated.

China has also reduced the number of soldiers on Finger 4 in the Pangong Tso area. India demanded that China should remove its army from the area between Finger 4 and 8. According to sources, India along with LAC in Ladakh closely monitoring all areas.
