LUCKNOW: The Uttar Pradesh'S Yogi Adityanath government has set a target of preparing 'gharaunis' - a certificate of the details of people's land or their patrimonial houses - for more than 90,000 villages by December this year.

According to a news release issued on Saturday by the Chief Minister's Office, the aim is to receive an error-free map from the Survey of India by July 31 and to complete on-the-spot testing by that date as well.

A detailed description of its action plan was prepared and presented before the Chief Secretary.  The Yogi government has completed surveying 90,894 villages, according to a government of Uttar Pradesh official statement. Nevertheless, the Survey of India map depicts 73,000 settlements. The preparation of 57 lakh Gharaunis is complete. The fact that, as of April 24, 2023, roughly 55.15 lakh "Gharaunis" have been issued out of these is a noteworthy feat.

In accordance with the "Svamitva Yojna," a Central Sector Scheme run by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj that aims to give property rights to people living in rural regions, the districts of Bundelkhand are at the top of the list of the top 10 districts, according to the statement. The plan encourages rural residents to obtain loans and other benefits by leveraging their dwellings as financial assets.

The top three districts are all in Bundelkhand: Lalitpur (99.944 percent), Jalaun (99.657 percent), and Jhansi (99.056 percent), with Mahoba (98.701 percent) coming in fifth. Moradabad is in fourth place with 99.037 percent. Sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, and tenth place, respectively, went to Baghpat (98.375 percent), Sambhal (97.474 percent), Hamirpur (97.328 percent), Shamli (97.044 percent), and Kasganj (97.008 percent).

In addition, the official announcement stated that "On April 24 for National Panchayati Raj Day, PM Modi digitally distributed 20,98,926 'gharaunis' of Uttar Pradesh. The Pradhan Mantri Svamitva Yojana delivered these "gharaunis" to 37,833 villages in the state.

The plan was praised by Yogi Aditynath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, who saw it as a step towards making the "Rashtroyada from Gramodaya" dream a reality.
