Ghaziabad District Magistrate, wife test corona positive

Lucknow: Ghaziabad District Magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey and his wife have tested positive for coronavirus. Both are in home-isolation after reports revealed.

Gaurav Singh, the Officer on Special Duty to Pandey disclosed about the condition of district magistrate saying that he had been experiencing symptoms of the disease since Saturday. Singh said the samples of the district magistrate and his wife Seema were tested on Saturday. After the reports tested positive they have quarantined themselves at their home. Ghaziabad Development Authority's vice-chairperson Krishna Karunesh would work as officiating district magistrate till Pandey returns, he said.

By the way, the state of Uttar Pradesh has reported a total of 35,614 fresh coronavirus cases and 208 new fatalities. Out of the total deaths reported in the state, Kanpur recorded the highest with a total of 19 deaths, followed by Varanasi where 15 people lost their lives, Lucknow reported a total of 14 deaths and Gautam Buddh Nagar reported 11 fatalities, Allahabad and Ghaziabad reported 10 each, according to an official statement.
