New Delhi: Gold and silver prices fell in domestic markets today as global markets softened. The US dollar strengthened to 0.38 per cent per 10 grams on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) on Tuesday, while December futures silver fell 0.66 per cent per kilogram.

Earlier, gold had gained 0.8 per cent in the previous trading session. Silver rose 0.65 per cent. In international markets, gold prices were lower today amid strong US dollars, but concerns over global economic growth have supported gold at lower levels. Gold rose 0.4 per cent to $1,761.69 an ounce, up from $1,770.41 an ounce in the previous trading session, its highest in nearly two weeks.

Gold fell 177 rupees, to 46,710 rupees per 10 grams on Tuesday, on MCX. Gold was priced at $1.761.69 an ounce in the international market. Silver fell 404 rupees, to 60,549.00 rupees per kilo. Silver fell 0.8 per cent to $22.47 an ounce in international markets.
