There is good news for people travelling by train. The status of regular mail/expresses and holiday special trains of East Central Railway is being run by Indian Railways at present has been abolished. The trains which are currently in the general category will continue to have reservations. While the coaches which were declared unreserved will remain unreserved.

According to the Railways, those who have already booked tickets will neither be charged the difference in fare nor will there be any refund. There has been no change in the coach combination and stoppage of all mail/express trains. In fact, it was decided by the Railways to operate regular trains as special trains for the safety of the people due to corona. But now all mail/express trains will be run from their old numbers.

148 mail/express trains of East Central Railway departing from their starting station will be operated from the old number. For example, 02393 Special Train running between Rajendra Nagar Terminal and New Delhi will now run from its old number, 12393 numbers, 03388 Dhanbad-Howrah Special from its old number 22388, 03259 Patna-Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus Special from its old number 82355 instead of 02393. Similarly, other trains will also be operated from their old numbers.
