According to the company, this feature is available for about 2000 toll roads for iOS and Android apps. Soon this feature will be added to other countries as well.
Google had in April announced the roll out of toll prices on Maps in India, the US, Japan and Indonesia. It will help users to choose between toll roads and regular roads. With this new update, users can now find out the estimated toll price for their destination even before the start of the journey with toll pricing information from local tolling officers. That is, if you pay the toll tax from a digital wallet, then you will be able to keep the amount in it.
Regarding this feature, Google said that the toll price seen is based on "reliable information from local tolling officers". Google Maps will estimate the total toll price for your destination based on factors such as the cost of using toll passes or other payment methods, the day of the week, and the expectation of users to cost the toll at specific times, the company said. These will be updated continuously when the toll tax increases. It is not that Google Maps will have only the information of toll tax routes. Instead, the details of the option route will also be present. That is, the information of such routes already present here where toll tax is not levied will also be received.
