Demonstration has begun in Meghalaya against citizenship law but violence is not taking the name to stop now. Four shops were set ablaze in the photo crowd town of South West Khasi Hills district when miscreants injured a young man with a broken bottle in the Mavprem area. Over half a dozen vehicles were damaged. 3 people have been killed in the violence since Friday, while many are said to have been injured. Eight people have been arrested.

Assistant Inspector General of Police, Gabrielle Ingarai, said, "On Sunday evening, a 28-year-old man was injured by hitting a broken glass bottle. Stones have also been reported on vehicles passing through the National Highway in East Khasi Hills district. However, the situation is under control and additional police forces are being sent to the affected areas."
