Govt to provide financial assistance to 11.8 crore students under Mid day Meal Scheme

The India Government is going to send money directly to the accounts of school students under the Mid Day Meal Scheme. The government is going to send money to the accounts of 11.8 crore students of the country. An additional fund of Rs.1200 crore has also been released for this purpose. This amount is to be given to children through direct benefit transfer. Due to the fact that children are not able to go to school in Covid period, a proposal was placed before Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' to transfer the cost of food cost of all eligible children of mid-day meal scheme to their account.

Nishank has approved the proposal, after which the amount is going to be sent to the children's account. The government believes that this is going to give a boost to the mid-day meal scheme. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' wrote from his Twitter account, "Under the MDM scheme, the Central Government will provide financial assistance to about 11.8 crore students through DBT. 1200 crore will be given in the fund".

Government to release additional funds of Rs 1200: It has been learnt that the government's decision is going to help protect the nutritional status of children. With this, the Central Government will release an additional fund of about Rs. The decision of the Central Government is going to benefit about 11.8 crore children studying in classes I to VIII in 11.20 lakh government and government aided schools across the country.
