New Delhi: The corona epidemic has created panic everywhere, killing many people. The same exemption will remain in force till May 31.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has issued a notification in this regard. For this, the hospital will have to keep a copy of the PAN or Aadhaar card of the patient and the payer and the relationship between the two. The CBDT said, "The Central Government here clarifies that hospitals, dispensaries, nursing homes, covid care centres or covid patient treatment other medical facilities have to be aware of the relationship between pan or Aadhaar of the patient and the person who pays on his behalf for cash payment from 1st April, 2021 to 31st May, 2021 in connection with Section 269 ST of the Income Tax Act, 1961".

At the same time, Nangia LLP partner Shailesh Kumar said that in the present circumstances, many hospitals and nursing homes demand payments in cash for the treatment of corona but under the Income Tax Act, payment of more than Two lakh rupees in cash is not allowed.
