Kolkata: The havoc of the Coronavirus has been increasing all over the country, causing problems to the common men. Many people have lost lives due to this virus so far. West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar said that at the time of Coronavirus crisis, I scheduled a virtual conference with the Vice-Chancellors of the Universities on 15 July. But the state government has said that no provisions have been issued for virtual conferences under the rules.

According to the information received, many chancellors of this virtual conference were deported. On this, the Governor says that I am seeing education in West Bengal stuck in political gripes. I had a meeting with the Vice-Chancellors and wanted to know about the problems faced by the colleges but they strongly opposed it. The saddest elements in their entire gamut is that they completely forgot the student's crisis amidst the pandemic.

How long and how far the students of this state will be denied their rights in the situation when the state has completely failed in containing COVID-19 transmission? Higher Education Department of the Government of West Bengal has told that the communication proposed by the Vice-Chancellor to any state-aided college is going to be sent through the department. But there will be no Vice-Chancellor Secretariat.
