Mumbai: Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari is facing continuous protests for insulting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. People who consider Shivaji Maharaj as their ideal are strongly opposing Governor Koshyari. Due to the protest, people are also raising slogans like 'Governor Hatao, Maharashtra Bachao'. Meanwhile, Governor Koshyari has written a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah.

In the letter, Bhagat Singh Koshyari wrote, 'I cannot think of insulting the great men of the country even in my dreams. It cannot be an insult to great leaders to give an example of today's conscientious person. I cannot even dream of insulting great men like Maharana Pratap, Guru Gobind Singhji, and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj who are symbols of courage and sacrifice during the Mughal era.'

In his letter, Koshyari has further written that if he has committed any mistake even unknowingly, he will never hesitate to express regret or apologize immediately. Apart from Koshyari, Maharashtra government ministers are also being surrounded on this issue. Recently, people protested by playing drums outside the house of Atul Save, a BJP leader in the Shinde government. The protesters had said that the ministers included in the Shinde government could not hear the sound of insulting the great men, that's why the drums were being played. In fact, Governor Koshyari attended the convocation ceremony of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University located in Aurangabad. Here he honored Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and NCP supremo Sharad Pawar with the title of D. Litt. Because of this, Koshyari had described Shivaji Maharaj as the ideal of the old era and Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Sharad Pawar as the ideal of the new era.
