New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has given the post of National General Secretary (Organisation) to its senior leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak. Pathak was serving as the party's election in-charge for the assembly elections in Punjab and Gujarat earlier this month. According to the report, Sandeep will also be a permanent invitee to the party's Political Affairs Committee (PAC).

The statement issued by AAP said that the party has appointed Dr. Sandeep Pathak as the National Organization General Secretary. He will also be a permanent invitee to the Political Affairs Committee (PAC). Although AAP could not make much impact in Gujarat, under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal, the party achieved national party status by securing 12.9 percent votes and 5 seats. After the election results were out, Kejriwal had said that AAP did not win more seats, but the votes canvassed by the party helped it get the status of a national party.

However, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has governments in Delhi and Punjab. And now it also satisfies the conditions of the Election Commission's vote share and seat criteria to become a national party.
