Lucknow: Govind Devgiri Maharaj, treasurer of the grand Ram Temple being built in Ayodhya and a member of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Pilgrimage Trust, has said that Mother India was not happy for the last 70 years, after 2014 she has started smiling a little.
Addressing the gathering at the Samagra Vande Mataram Granth Prakashan Ceremony in Pune on Friday, Govind Devgiri Maharaj said that the many adjectives that are said in the Vandemataram song are not applicable today. Is Bharat Mata happy, is Bharat Mata having a sweet smile today? She's crying, not humour. We should consider that each of her adjectives should be true. Today, Mother India is crying in many ways. I think she had been crying for the past 70 years and in 2014 she started smiling a little.
Govind Devgiri Maharaj further said, 'The sin committed by our governments by rejecting our traditions, rejecting our history and geography, calling our pilgrimages fake, calling Lord Ram imaginary, by saying that Ram Setu was not built by anyone and giving an affidavit to our governments.'
