Govt sanctions two new tourist circuits for Arunachal

ITANAGAR: In a bid to strengthen tourism in the northeastern state, the Central government has approved two new tourist circuits for Arunachal Pradesh,  officials said here on Wednesday.

The new tourist circuits are Deomali , Dibrugarh,  Hukanjuri,- Khonsa in Tirap district and Dibrugarh - Kanubari - Longding in Longding district of the state, the official said.

"The central government has reviewed the Arunachal Pradesh government's proposal for the opening of new tourist routes. Accordingly, with the agreement of the competent authority in the Ministry of Home Affairs, it has been decided to open two new tourist routes in Arunachal Pradesh for tourism purposes "According to a circular issued by the Union Home Ministry.

The MHA also requested the Arunachal Pradesh government to increase the capability of district administration, especially the police of Tirap and Longding districts, to cater to the security of the area by establishing an environment conducive to tourism. "The activities of tourists must be adequately monitored by the relevant agencies," according to the regulation.

The Arunachal Pradesh tourism department welcomed the opening of the new tourist routes in a post. "Previously unknown and unexplored places in both of these regions will now be open to travellers. This, in turn, will benefit the local economy and people's livelihoods. Tourists will be able to experience the region's unique culture, dances, and cuisine," it said.
