The Ram Rath carrying the ‘Grand Bell’ that wheeled off from Rameswaram on September 17, reached Ayodhya this Wednesday along with its participants to handover the Grand bell and the idols of God to the temple authority. The large bell for the Ayodhya Ram Temple weighs over 600 kg and is 4.1 feet tall and has “Jai Sri Ram” carved on it.  Periphery of 10KM can hear the sound when it is rung.  The temple town will be echoed by the sound of ‘OM’.  Raj Laxmi Maada, drove the Ram Rath from Rameswaram to Ayodhya, a distance of 4,500 km spanning 10 states.

The Chennai-based ‘Legal Rights Council’ has organized this Rath yatra. The Rath also has carried the idols of Lord Ram, Sita Devi, brother Lakshman, Lord Ganesha and Lord Hanuman. The bell and idols were handed to the Secretary of Ram Mandir Trust, Champat Rai at Ram Mandir Nirmaan Karyashala in presence of Ram Mandir Trust member, Anil Mishra, Mahant Dinendra Das and Vimlendra Mishra. The idols of Lord Ram, Sita, Laxman, Ganapati and Hanuman were handed over to Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust Secretary Champat raj.

"We are very pleased with the fact that after so many years Bhumi Pujan (for a grand Ram temple) took place in Ayodha on August 5 and the dream of crores of Hindus came true. To mark this big event, we wanted to make a contribution from our side," said Rajalakshmi, general secretary of the Legal Rights Council, which had organised the yatra. The journey started on the birthday of honourable prime minister Narendra Modi . Raj Laxmi a world record holder for pulling 9.5 tonnes of weight, is popularly known as Bullet Rani.
