New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, on Tuesday (May 3, 2022) on the second day of his Europe tour. He was accorded a warm welcome at the airport by Danish PM Mette Fredriksson. After reaching Copenhagen, PM Modi tweeted and wrote that, 'I have reached Copenhagen. I am extremely grateful to PM Derrickson for the warm welcome. This visit will have far-reaching consequences in further strengthening India-Denmark ties.

The Ministry of External Affairs also wrote in a tweet about PM Modi's visit that, 'The PM of Denmark welcomed PM Modi at Copenhagen Airport. Both the leaders will now visit Marienborg, the official residence of the Prime Minister of Denmark. Delegation level talks were held between PM Modi and Denmark's PM Mate Fredriksen. During this, both sides reviewed the progress in the Green Strategic Partnership. The Ministry of External Affairs says that they also brainstormed on our extensive cooperation in the areas of skill development, climate, renewable energy, arctic, P2P relations etc.

In the India-Denmark Business Forum, PM Modi said, 'These days the trend of the word FOMO or 'Fear of Missing' is increasing on social media. Looking at the reforms and investment opportunities in India, I can say that those who do not invest in our country will definitely miss out. PM Modi said that both India and Denmark share values ​​like democracy, freedom of expression, and rule of law, today we have also talked on many international issues including Indo Pacific and Ukraine.

"We expect the negotiations on the India-EU trade agreement to be concluded soon," the statement said. We have emphasized on creating a rule based and free Indo Pacific region. We have insisted on Ukraine for an immediate ceasefire and to resolve this issue through dialogue. India is committed to fulfilling the resolutions taken at Glasgow Cop 56. I am sure that under your leadership the relations between India and Denmark will go to greater heights.
