Grenade Attack in Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir Leaves Two Civilians and One Soldier Injured

New Delhi:  A grenade attack in the Khanyar area of Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in injuries to two civilians and one soldier. The attack transpired when militants launched a grenade at a security forces' patrol party, leading to a retaliatory response from the patrol unit. Therefore, a brief gun battle ensued. The injured individuals were expeditiously transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

The wounded civilians were identified as Mohammad Ashraf Bhat and Mohammad Yasin Bhat, while the injured soldier is recognized as Havaldar Mohammad Ishaq. Presently, all three individuals are reported to be in a stable condition.

This incident materialized amid intensified security operations against militants in the Kashmir Valley. Recent months have witnessed several encounters between security forces and militants, resulting in the elimination of several militants.

According to police statements, although the militants managed to evade apprehension, efforts are underway to locate and apprehend them. Authorities are conducting a comprehensive investigation into the attack, and they implore the cooperation of the public in providing any pertinent information regarding the perpetrators.
