The grand event plans out for even grander records as the Mahakumbh 2025 is coming to an end within 4 days. The largest spiritual gathering in Prayagraj aims to set a multiple Guinness World Records before its culmination on the occasion of Mahashivratri, the last scheduled snan. As many as 59.31 crore devotees have already taken the holy dip at the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. By the end of the weekend, it might hit to 60 crore devotees.
As the event progresses towards its end, standing close to 45 successful days, it is expected to a finish at a footfall of 65 crore devotees. More than simply being the largest spiritual gathering, Mahakumbh is now ready to set multiple world records through achievements promoting cleanliness, sustainability and cultural heritage.
The four ambitious initiatives aimed to be achieved in the coming days include:
A massive sanitation drive with 15,000 workers
The biggest street cleaning campaign in history is set to take place, with a group of 15,000 sanitation workers hitting on the streets in Prayagraj. They will be sweeping the streets collectively keeping the ghats clean and hygienic aiming to set a new record of the biggest sanitation drive. Different roads have been earmarked for this purpose, including the Sangam Lower Road, Akhara road, and others of Sector 2,3 and 4 of the mela area.
A mass water cleanup at the Triveni Sangam
Prayagraj aims for a mass water cleanup at the Triveni Sangam, which is the holy confluence of the sacred Ganges, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati. As many as 300 labourers are going to clean the water stream, making it a record-breaking attempt of an endeavor. It also reflects upon India’s dedication and commitment to maintain the cleanliness of its holy rivers.
Even on February 14, 300 sanitation workers participated in a sanitation drive cleaning the ghats of Ganga, organized by the Prayagraj Mela Authority.
A spectacular show by e-rickshaws
In order to encourage and promote sustainable development as well as an environment friendly mobility, a parade of 1,000 e-rickshaws will be conducted at the Mahakumbh. During the traffic and crowd rush, e-rickshaws emerged to be a quick, affordable and the best means of public transportation.
There are also chances that a drive of shuttle buses might be conducted rather than the parade of e-rickshaws. This is in view of the traffic surge and massive crowd flocking towards the mela area. As many as 500 shuttle buses will operate on the same day, for an attempt at yet another world record.
A handprint painting mega event
This is going to be one of the biggest art initiatives of its kind, where 10,000 artists are going to participate in the handprint painting initiative at the Ganga Pandal, that too within eight hours of time. The painting will depict India’s heritage and culture in the language of art.
It has been reported that the Yogi Adityanath government is in collaboration with the Guinness World Records team ensuing that everything is in place with all the rules adhered to. The representatives will then verify the whole process. Upon certification, these will prove to be significant milestones. Akansha Rana, the Kumbh’s Officer on Special Duty (OCD) said in this regard, that the sanitation workers are already scripting history with the ongoing river cleaning project.
The unprecedented record of 60 crore visitors has already been close to achievement, way ahead to the expected 45 crore devotees. It proved to be the biggest assembly in the history of mankind, an incredible number that exceeds the population of some of the major countries like USA, Russia and Brazil. The aims towards Guinness World Records reflect upon the cultural and religious significance of the grand event, at the same time a call towards the movement towards sustainability and environmental awareness.
