Ahmadabad:  The Karnataka High Court, while ruling on the hijab controversy, has said that hijab is not an essential religious practice of Islam. A day after this, the Gujarat Education Department has issued a circular to all the educational institutions of the state. In this, they have been instructed to be alert and cautious about the hijab controversy. Along with this, it has also been asked to ensure that law and order should not be disturbed under any circumstances.

In the circular issued on Wednesday, it has been said to be alert about the hijab controversy, so that no untoward incident takes place and the law and order situation is maintained. The Commissioner of Schools, Director of Higher Education and Technical Education, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Director of Technical Education, Director of Primary Education and Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education have been identified in the circular.

The Karnataka High Court has ruled on Tuesday that wearing hijab is not an essential religious practice of Islam. It has upheld the Karnataka government's order on uniforms in educational institutions. Along with this, many petitions have also been rejected saying that not allowing to wear headscarf in class is a violation of fundamental rights. The rule of removing the hijab has become a center of religious tension in Karnataka and has also spread to other states of the country. For this reason, the Gujarat Education Department has become alert before the start of the examinations. Let us inform that the GSHSEB class 10, 12 examination in Gujarat is going to be held from March 28.
