Ahmedabad: Voting is going on today for the election of six municipal corporations in Gujarat. In fact, polling has started at seven in the morning in various wards of the six municipal corporations of Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Jamnagar, and Bhavnagar. The polling is going on till 5 pm. Today, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with his family members, has voted in Ahmedabad's Naranpura sub-zonal office.

This time the main contest in the elections is between the BJP and the main opposition Congress.

In such a situation, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has claimed that 'it will be an effective choice in front of BJP and Congress, while Asaduddin Owaisi's All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is contesting the local body elections for the first time.'
