Ahmedabad: Voting is going on today for the election of six municipal corporations in Gujarat. In fact, polling has started at seven in the morning in various wards of the six municipal corporations of Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Jamnagar, and Bhavnagar. The polling is going on till 5 pm. Today, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, along with his family members, has voted in Ahmedabad's Naranpura sub-zonal office.

At the same time, the possibility of Chief Minister Vijay Rupani to vote in his hometown Rajkot is also being expressed. He was found infected with the coronavirus during an election campaign a few days ago. In such a situation, he will have a corona test today and after that, he will go to vote wearing a PPE kit. This time the main contest in the elections is between the BJP and the main opposition Congress.

You must have known that the BJP has ruled these six municipal corporations for the last several terms. In such a situation, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has claimed that 'it will be an effective choice in front of BJP and Congress, while Asaduddin Owaisi's All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) is contesting the local body elections for the first time.'
