Ahmedabad: Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani has also been granted bail in the case of molesting a woman policeman. Jignesh has been granted bail by the Barpeta District and Sessions Judge Court. Mevani had filed a bail application in this case on Thursday. Mevani is expected to be taken to Kokrajhar before being released on Saturday.
MLA Jignesh Mevani was sent to 5-day police custody on April 26, rejecting his bail plea. On Tuesday, Jignesh Mevani was produced by the Assam Police in a case related to molestation and abusing while escorting a woman policeman. Let us tell you that the court had granted bail to Jignesh Mevani on Monday itself for making controversial tweets against PM Narendra Modi. Soon after getting bail, Jignesh Mevani was arrested for misbehaving with a female policeman lodged in another police station. After this arrest, Jignesh was produced in the court, where he was sent on police remand for 5 days.
