Gulab Cyclone: ​​South Central Railway canceled some trains

South Central Railway officials issued a statement that some trains have been partially canceled and others have been diverted. South Central Railway has canceled several trains operating from Odisha today and tomorrow amid the cyclone rose in the Bay of Bengal. The canceled trains are Bhubaneswar-Secunderabad, Bhubaneswar-Tirupati, Puri-Chennai Central, Sambalpur-HS Nanded, Raigarh-Guntur, Bhubaneswar-KSR Bangalore City, Bhubaneswar-Yesvantpur Express. South Central Railway gave information to this effect from its Twitter handle.

On the other hand, due to the effect of cyclone, the weather condition in Srikakulam district is changing. The cyclonic storm Gulab formed in the Bay of Bengal is moving towards the coast. It is located 140 km from Gopalpur in Odisha and 190 km from Kalingapatnam in AP. It will be cloudy all over the district and light rain will occur at many places. The cyclone is expected to cross the coast between Kalingapatnam and Gopalpur tonight with winds reaching 75-90 kmph.

Srikakulam District Collector Srikesh Lathkar alerted the field level officials in view of the storm warning. National Disaster Management Teams were prepared which reached Gaara and Kavita coastal areas as the cyclone was crossing the coast within the district.
