New Delhi: Jailed Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh has been brought to Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Hospital for endoscopy. Ram Rahim has been brought to Delhi AIIMS amid tight security guard. Gurmeet Ram Rahim is serving a jail term in two different cases.

He has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the rape of two sadhvi and has been sentenced to life imprisonment in connection with the murder of a journalist. Dera Sachcha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram after he was infected with corona on June 8 last month. Ram Rahim had earlier suffered from stomach ache on June 3 after which a medical checkup was conducted at PGIMS Hospital in Rohtak. Meanwhile, Ram Rahim had refused to conduct a corona test in Rohtak PGIMS.

Ram Rahim was later brought to Medanta Hospital in Gurugram under heavy police protection for further investigation. When he underwent a corona test at the hospital, it was found that he was infected with covid. Ram Rahim was granted parole two months ago. The application for parole mentioned the mother's illness. Ram Rahim was rejected keeping in view the security on his old parole request. Last year Ram Rahim was granted a day's parole to meet his mother. Ram Rahim's parole was granted in a secret manner, but the whole matter was later exposed and the Haryana government was furious.
