Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's furlough has ended today i.e. on Monday. The Dera chief will have to surrender in Rohtak's Sunaria jail. He was granted 21 days' leave. Gurugram police are going to reach Rohtak with Ram Rahim under tight security. Security around the jail premises has been beefed up even more.

The government had sanctioned Ram Rahim's 21-day furlough in February. Meanwhile, the government had also given Z-plus (Z category security) security to Ram Rahim citing a threat to his life. During the furlough, Ram Rahim stayed at his ashram in Gurugram for most of the time.

The government had made the ADGP (CID) report the basis of security. The government had said that Khalistan supporters can reach out to the Dera chief even more, so they are being provided with strict security. Last year too, the Dera chief was granted emergency parole from morning to evening to meet his ailing mother. He has also been out of jail on a few occasions citing health reasons. Ram Rahim has also been given furlough with certain conditions. He could not have held a public meeting in it. Nor can there be a crowd of devotees at their dera. Furlough is going to be the same as a holiday for convicted prisoners in a way. Under Furlough, the prisoner is allowed to go to his home for a specified period of time.
