Ranchi: Hemant Soren inducted Hafizul Ansari into his cabinet, son of former Jharkhand Minority Welfare Minister Haji Hussain Ansari. Governor Draupadi Murmu administered the oath of office and secrecy to Hafizul Ansari at a ceremony held at Raj Bhavan. Hafizul was included as the 10th member of Soren's team. The event was attended by CM Hemant Soren and his cabinet colleagues, Rajya Sabha MP and JMM's guardian Shibu Soren, as well as members of the ruling JMM-Congress-RJD alliance.

Minister Haji Hussain Ansari died in October last year. MLA was undergoing treatment of Covid-19 in a private hospital for four times in Madhupur in Santhal Pargana division of the state. He died of a heart attack on October 3, a day after recovering from Corona. In a sudden move, Chief Minister Soren decided to include Haji Ansari's son. However, Hafizul is not yet a member of the Jharkhand Assembly.

After Hafizul became the 10th minister in Jharkhand's 12-member cabinet, the Soren government still has a ministerial berth. According to the constitutional provision, a non-elected member can be sworn in as a minister, but a person has to become a member of the Legislative Assembly within six months of becoming a minister.
