New Delhi: Prashant Kishore is in the news these days for his entry into the Congress. In recent times, there has been speculation about Prashant's meetings with Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi. The suspense over election strategist Prashant Kishore's plans in relation to Congress continues. Veteran party leader Harish Rawat has said that he is welcome to join the Congress as an activist.

Harish Rawat said the party cannot be kept under the control of a particular person, no matter how capable it may be. When asked about Prashant Kishore, Harish Rawat said, "Anyone who is an Indian citizen who believes in the freedom movement and some values of the Congress can become a member of the party. In such a situation, Prashant Kishore can also come to Congress.'' He further said, "We are always open to new ideas. But the party cannot be run according to a particular person. He may be a very capable person, but we can't say that now you work on our behalf, we'll stop working.''

Congress leader Harish Rawat further said, "The Congress has a very democratic way of working in which everyone has a role to play. If Prashant Kishore feels he can play an important role through Congress, he is always welcome. But it is also very clear that he will follow our Constitution, our tradition.''
