New Delhi:  The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the names of the winners of the ICC Player of the Month Awards for September 2022. Players from India and Pakistan have won the ICC's Men's and Women's Awards. Indian women's cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur has received this award in the women's category, while Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan has received this award in the men's category.

Among the players who were shortlisted for the women's cricket award were Bangladesh's Nigar Sultana, who performed brilliantly in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier in the United Arab Emirates, along with Team India captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Smriti Mandhana. But, Harmanpreet left behind Sultan and Mandhana and won the award.  

Let me tell you that the month of September has been great for Harmanpreet. India made a 3-0 clean sweep in the ODI series against England under her captaincy. India thus won their first ODI series in England since 1999. Harmanpreet scored 221 runs in three matches. She scored an unbeaten 74 in the first ODI followed by 143 off 111 balls in the second ODI.
