Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini responded to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal's allegations regarding the water crisis in Delhi, asserting that Haryana is supplying its entire water quota to Delhi. Saini accused the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of fabricating falsehoods to conceal its corruption.

During a press briefing on Saturday, CM Saini emphasized, "Kejriwal has previously made such baseless allegations. I urge him to focus less on corruption and more on development. Haryana is providing even more water than stipulated in the court-mandated agreement. However, Kejriwal is resorting to falsehoods for political gains, hiding behind allegations."

Criticizing the Delhi government's inefficiency in water infrastructure development, Saini remarked, "Kejriwal's administration failed to establish proper water systems due to its preoccupation with corruption. The judiciary has also reprimanded the Delhi government, affirming that Haryana is fulfilling its water obligations."

Meanwhile, Delhi grapples with an acute water shortage amid escalating temperatures. The Delhi government approached the Supreme Court seeking immediate additional water from Haryana, citing the severe heatwave gripping North India, particularly the national capital.

Various areas in Delhi, including Chanakyapuri's Sanjay Camp and Geeta Colony, face severe water scarcity, with residents enduring long queues to procure water from tankers. Despite lodging complaints with the government regarding water shortages, residents lamented that their grievances remain unaddressed.

Addressing allegations of discrepancies and instances of 'bogus voting' during the state's polling, CM Saini affirmed ongoing investigations into the matter. He assured that a comprehensive report concerning BJP leaders allegedly acting against the party's interests would be forwarded to the central leadership for further action.

Saini asserted, "We convened a meeting with district officials and leaders to gather relevant information. Any misconduct by officials or involvement in bogus voting will be met with strict action. We are committed to upholding the integrity of the electoral process." Haryana's 10 constituencies went to polls on May 25 during the sixth phase of elections, with vote counting scheduled for June 4.
